Valentine’s Day gift! The Caplan pack received a Chewy gift box for Valentine’s Day. In celebration of Dental Health Month, we reviewed Zuke’s Z-Bones Clean Carrot Treats (an 8 pack). We also tested Primal Turkey Liver Munchies, as a high reward treat for NoseWork and “Look At Me” games this past week.

Zuke’s Z-Bones are great for Dental Health Month.

Periodontal Disease is a big deal so having your companion animal checked out by your vet is super important. Bruiser has a junky Doxie mouth and needs a dental cleaning once a year. Sherm’s teeth are not quite as bad and Walter has received a clean bill of health so far but he’s also the youngest. I included a video from the AVMA on this below in the resource section. Dental disease can lead to chronic health issues like heart disease.

Noteworthy Ingredients:

  • Healthy Antioxidants including pumpkin, rosemary and turmeric
  • Natural Fresheners: including parsley, alfalfa, rosemary and fennel

Why do we love these? They’re a great treat that also help keep the dog’s teeth and gums clean. It keeps their breath fresh and they love them – a perfect snack.

Noteworthy Ingredients:

  • Grain and gluten free; no preservatives; no added salt and a single source protein. You all know that I feed a raw diet to our dogs so having a single source of protein for training this week has been awesome.

Why do we love these?

I’ve always been a fan of liver treats for training. They crumble into tiny pieces so I can use these for NoseWork training when we’re constantly rewarding for finding odor. I go through a lot of treats so being able to break these up is important AND it doesn’t bother their stomachs or conflict with their diets. This is the first time I’ve tried Primal freeze-dried treats and I’m now a huge fan.

Disclaimer: We received a bag of Zuke’s and the Primal freeze-dired treats from Chewy.com as part of their blogger program in exchange for an honest review.  I only share information about products that I believe in and already fit into our doggie lifestyle and routine. Chewy.com did not compensate me for this post.
