Twigo Tags: Decrease Jingling & The Importance of Proper Identification

Twigo tag

Twigo Tags sent me a few of their tags to try as our dogs are super sound sensitive and the jingling of their tags is more than they can handle when running through the park. Walter especially. He reacts to noise that I can barely hear and it mostly bothers him over the other dogs.

The jingling cannot be avoided – all dogs should be equipped with multiple forms of identification. Our dogs have their rabies tag, county ID tags and their contact ID tags- so three separate tags. (My dogs are also micro-chipped). So yes, all three of these tags do a lot of jingling!

I haven’t tried anything like the Twigo Tags previously, they’re easy to personalize and honestly, this is such a no brainer idea for folks. I’ve included the instructions below. You can see on Walter’s tag how it looks after you personalize these and boil them.

Luckily, my dogs haven’t gotten lost but I worry and from time to time that someone will leave a gate door open or the door by the garage.

How to Personalize your Twigo Tag: Simply Write, Boil (Cover) & Wear (Any medium ballpoint pen will work. No Sharpies or Gel Pens)

1. Write details on back. Mistake? Remove with rubbing alcohol & rewrite. Soap will not remove ink.

Customer Tip for writing on our Silence Pocket: place two quarters inside the pocket before writing. This will create a flat surface to write on.

2. Place in boiling water for 2 minutes. Ink changes to purple color. Allow to dry.

3. Twigo Silence Pocket only – Place existing engraved tag inside the smile in the front.

5. Secure by slipping loop into collar ring + pull over tag tighten and secure

  1. The Twigo tags are handy for traveling or if Mr. N is staying with someone else so we can put different contact information on him!

This is such a good idea! We always went with the good ol’ scotch tape to stop the jingling. 🙂

  3. Wow, I have never heard of these. Great idea and they are cute, too
