My TRUE Love: Puts Up With Three Hounds

Early V-Day post!
My true love…Is this from the Princess Bride? Didn’t true love save her from the fire swamp? Perhaps? The Princess Bride is my favorite modern tale (or tail in this case) about love. I think in order to stay in love you need a sense of humor…. a lot of it. I’m lucky, I know this. Let’s dissect why my husband, Mike, is my TRUE love:
- He puts up with three hounds in his personal space 24/7 and welcomes the dynamic of living with not one but THREE dogs
- He always makes time for me, even when he’s super busy and doesn’t have time for himself
- He lets me win some arguments…. Actually he lets me win a lot of arguments
- Mike takes the time to love each hound and takes Shermie to work when he can for “enrichment”
- He sleeps on the couch during our summer vacations when we head to the coast or a cabin and the dogs need space on the mattress which is never as big as the one we have at home
- He always asks how I’m doing and actually cares about my day… and still asks even though sometimes I forget to ask him
- He cooks (YES!) meals for the dogs and since one has IBD… this is non-negotiable and it’s his pleasure
So, Mike – thank you for putting up with me after 15 plus years. You didn’t know that we’d one day “live with three dogs” and it definitely wasn’t in our vows!
