Dahlia Festival With The Hounds
We spent the Saturday of Labor Day weekend at The Dahlia Festival. This pet-friendly festival said ok to dogs on leash so we loaded all three dogs in the car and headed down to Canby, Oregon. There is nothing better than a road-trip. We stayed on the perimeter of the flower rows and didn’t run into many dogs which was fantastic.
Let me know in the comments section what you all did with your dogs this past weekend? Did you enjoy any “flower festivals?” For Wordless Wednesday here are some pictures from the festival. There was also a “u-pick” section so I know have a house full of Dahlia arrangements.
What’s your favorite flower?
Sherm enjoying the festival!
I love the different sizes of dahlias, from button to dinner plate. Your colors are breathtaking.
We have no family traditions for Labor Day. I find it depressing because it is the end of summer.
These Dahlias were honestly breath taking – I’m not sure how they get all the various sizes to grow. This place was crazy and I’d go back for sure! I’m also SUPER depressed that summer is ending and yesterday we just kind of hung around not knowing what to do with ourselves! Summer flew by!
So pretty – and a lovely place to be to boot. Thank you for sharing.
Of course! I had to share the flowers were so awesome!
Looks like a beautiful day! My favorite flowers are tulips and sunflowers.
I also love Tulips and we have a Tulip Festival too! 🙂
Beautiful flowers and so nice they allowed dogs!
Agreed! I was stunned it was pet friendly.
Hi Y’all!
My Humans love Dahlias. I love to smell them.
Y’all come on by,
Hawk aka BrownDog
They are my favorite Brown Dog!!
Gorgeous scenery – I love me some flowers. And dogs allowed = good enough for me! 🙂
I worked!
Me too! As soon as I saw the event on Facebook I thought sign me up!
Oh my goodness! My mom and I would be at this place FOREVER taking pictures!!! 🙂
I was only there 30 minutes but could have stayed three hours!
I didn’t know you could bring dogs to that! I’m totally going next year with the canine crew in tow. Thanks for the tip!

I totally didn’t know that it was pet friendly either. I saw the event notice on Facebook and literally put the dogs in the car and went on a whim!
We have a similar place here in Charleston called “Magnolia Gardens” that’s my favorite flower – and I love the smell. They just don’t have a “pick-me” section, but if they did, I would spread them all over my house too!
I totally forgot you lived in Charleston -I bet you have so many fabulous flower gardens! I’m googling this place right now!
