What do Chewy and St. Patty’s Day Have in Common? Giveaway!
Walter takes this holiday very seriously!
Bruiser has been waiting ALL winter long to try some St. Patty’s treats and gear.

I lived in Chicago for most of my life and the best tradition was when they made the entire river green. It was a large tradition to leave work early and drink green beer… pretty much anywhere, all day.
What about St. Patty’s dog related traditions? Well in our house we dress up like leprechauns. In order to “play” dress up we use a lot of treats. Chewy helped us out by sending us Fromm’s over-baked Salmon with Sweet Potato Recipe treats for dogs. We have a parade to attend! We needed some help… it was great to try a new brand. Fromm’s uses premium USA-sourced ingredients with no artificial preservatives. Fromm Family Foods is a fifth generation family-owned and operated artisan pet food company.
Here are some pics of the pack trying some treats while we explore parade outfits!
Grain free. Yep!
We do not feed ourselves or the dogs cabbage and corn beef! I’m German and the doxies are too so we celebrate typically at a bar… Give your dogs treats that won’t upset their stomachs – and try Fromm’s treats if you haven’t before! Our pack loved these.
Here’s why we love them:
- Fromm’s Four-Star Nutritionals Grain-Free Salmon with Sweet Potato Recipe Dog Treats are grain-free oven-baked treats made with wild salmon, sweet potatoes, green bell peppers, and spinach.
- They weigh in at just 12 calories per treat, and Walter needs to lose some pounds so I like that I can use these for rainy walks and leash reactivity
- They’re produced in small batches for superior quality in Wisconsin.
HOLIDAY TIP REMINDERS IF YOU’RE HAVING A ST. PATTY’S DAY PARTY
Also, here are some quick “holiday” safety tips I found on the Michigan Humane Society’s site:
If you have planned festivities at your own home, please review the following tips:
- Keep your pets away from the holiday food like what I mentioned above – no cabbage for your dogs!
- Alcohol is not good for pets, so keep your green beer out of his reach. Also, green food coloring could cause further intestinal upset.
- If children will be attending your St. Patty’s Day party please make sure that they treat your pet with respect.
Chewy is also helping us give-away a St. Patty’s themed gift for our followers! A “green” goodies basket will be sent to one lucky winner!
Disclaimer: We received these products from Chewy.com as part of their blogger program in exchange for an honest review. I only share information about products that I believe in and already fit into our doggie lifestyle and routine. Chewy.com did not compensate me for this post.
Enter the giveaway via the entry form below. One lucky winner will receive a Chewy Box.
This is open to US residents from 3/15/17 until 11:59PM eastern 3/22/17. #ad
Pin me!
We will be working as he is my service dog. but he will likely wear a St. patty’s day bandanna while at the office.
That’s so nice you can celebrate the holiday together! Happy St. Patty’s Day!
my dog will probably get some special treats and maybe a pig ear or bully stick!
A pig ear or a bully stick sounds delicious!
I dress them up & take pictures
Please send us some of those pics!
We may be doing some St. Patty’s dress-up, but no special plans otherwise. Maybe it’s a good year to start a new tradition. Have a great St. Patty’s Day!
You too! Yes – a good holiday to start a tradition with your pack!
Special treats and dressing up in green 🙂
Have a great St. Patty’s Day!
we are having a big party with 5 corned beefs! and everyone that has a dog is bringing them!
oh that sounds like a PARTY!
Kenji is getting a special corned beef stew for dinner!
That sounds delicious!
Can’t enter the contest, sorry. Never really celebrated St. Pats day – I figure if I drink everyday I’ve got it covered 😉 A green bandana for the dog might be a good idea though.
I’m with you and we both clearly have this covered -I thought the green bandana was a nice touch 😉 lol.
We don’t celebrate St Paddy’s day. Those treats look really good.
Thank you!
I let them sleep in…just kidding, they’re up before me! I’ll be mixing up some dog treats tinted green perhaps!
That’s awesome to be a little festive!
Dressing up the little diva and lots of special treats!
I’d love to see some pics of your sweet diva!
Relaxing with the fuzzies.
Me too! Cannot wait!
Great tips for keeping pets safe during a party! Also loving their costumes 🙂
Thank you! We had fun playing dress up 😉
we’ll be wearing green, but no corned beef and cabbage, ugh
Ditto – no cabbage or corn beef for us although that sounds good right now!
Nothing, much to Sullivan’s disappointment. We usually go to the St. Paddy’s day parade in Hillsboro but I completely messed up this year. I’ll have to pick up some of those Fromm treats to make it up to him!
Go to Lippman’s! I found all sorts of ridiculous dog items. 😉
My dog, Bandit, is a Boston terrier so this is one of his favorite holidays. We’ll take a troll through our downtown and visit all yhe bars, restaurants and shops that are celebrating
That sounds like an excellent day – enjoy with sweet Bandit!
Great giveaway! They look like they love those treats 🙂
Thank you! Fromm’s treats rock!
My dogs are going to do the usual — nap and cuddle!
We’re doing that right now!
I will be dressing my 3 up in their St. Patty’s Day outfits!
It’s not a holiday until the dogs are dressed up! LOL!
So cute! We have two little doxies and they are the sweetest!
Oh another doxie lover! Please share pics!
Cute puppy pictures make my day. Love it!
That’s so nice of you – Thank you!
Look at those Lucky Leprechauns, finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! Salmon and sweet potato treats, YUM! That IS something to celebrate about. These are great safety reminders, stick to healthy treats rather than corned beef.
Love & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
Yes! I’m not even sure my dogs would like Corned Beef 🙂 Thank you! They were lucky dogs this week for sure!
I will be away from my dogs sadly but I sent my parents home treats made with spinach for a tasty green surprise!
Oh that was so thoughtful of you! Sounds delicious!
Ah–this is SO AWESOME! I love holidays + dogs so much and you blended the two here beautifully!
P.S. The Chicago green river thing is seriously ALLCAPSAWESOME!
Isn’t it CRAZY how the entire river is turned Green – crazy!! I miss that. Thank you!
Bowser will be sporting his GREEN! 🙂
Excellent! Have fun!
Yum! Those look tasty! We made green treats for St. Patrick’s Day this year. And of course everyone will be wearing at least a little green so they don’t get pinched!
I loved your post today and I forgot about the pinching tradition! Good thing we’re prepared 🙂
Taking the day off work and going with the flow 🙂
Love that you’re taking the day off!
Your boys are preciously adorable Christy! Such good sports they are. 🙂
I have to find some of these treats. The boys go bananas for sweet potato! 🙂
Thank you – we went through A LOT of treats and the old doxie will do anything for food so that made it easier! Ha! Happy St. Patty’s Day!
LOL. I’m sure he was eating up all of love and extra treats and posting justttttt right for Momma. “Is this good, Momma?”
Happy St. Patrick’s Day hun! 🙂
somtimes the local pet stores have contest, so we go to the stores for an afternoon of games and contests along with free treats.
I love that your local pet store celebrates holidays like St. Patty’s Day 🙂
I might add some green beans and peas to my dog’s Fromm kibble for dinner and put a green bandanna on her!
Hope your St. Patty’s Day was awesome! I think adding green beans and peas is a great idea — such an awesome supplement for dinner. how did the green bandanna look?! I bet super cute. Send pics please!
To celebrate with the nuggets, Nala and Cody, they always get people food we do make sure what we give them is doggy safe so its usually protein like steak. They are such spoiled pups. Maybe we will give them some extra Stella and Chewy’s since its their favorite.
I also love Stella and Chewy’s – doggy safe products are the only way to go.
Oh, my goodness… your pack is so cute! What a great giveaway–love that these treats are all-natural AND grain-free. Buster has a stomach made of steel, I swear, but I still don’t like to feed him garbage (and hollah! I’m German, too!).
Sounds like you had a really fun St. Pat’s! Mine was relatively lame.. but I did enjoy lots of Buster snuggles 🙂 Hope you are enjoying your weekend!!
I just read your other comment too! Yes, probably from the BlogPaws link up I bet. I would love to cotribute more to Peaceful Posse group threads. I just love the group so so much. Thank you for such kind words about the dog pack. I have so much fun with them and these give-away’s are so great to do! Have a wonderful rest of your Sunday and cannot wait to read more of your posts. Here’s to some German brewskies!
Thanks, Christy 🙂 And yes–I look forward to connecting with you in the new group as well! Hope you have a great start to your week!
My dogs have some green bandanas, but my cat refuses to participate in any holiday activities. He’s the Scrooge of all holidays.
Those sound like good treats for my dogs, Nelly has grain allergies, and Theo needs low calorie treats.
Oh I get it – if your cat DID want to partake I would need a lot of pics! We also decided bandanas were the best way to go! Nelly and Theo would dig these. Super gentle on their stomachs.
Here in the UK we always have a celebrate – thank you for sharing your tips about keeping out dogs safe – I think too many people forget that !
We went to a dog friendly brewery 🙂
Coco gets dressed up in green and then we have corned beef and cabbage. Well she has a little of the corned beef but not much and no cabbage. She gets special St. Pat’s treats too!
Erin go bragh! ☘️
Taking them to the dog park
To celebrate St. Patty’s Day with our dogs we gave them some green treats and put on their green bandanas.
